Why we support the art and design center b-05?
Škoda Auto a.s. located in Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic) and is one of the oldest automakers in the world and continues to produce innovative autos to this day. In 2005 this traditional brand celebrated its 110 year anniversary of the company and the 100 year anniversary of car production. Škoda Auto has 27,000 employees worldwide having production facilities in the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, India, China and is located in more than 100 countries. The brand Škoda Auto belongs to the German Volkswagen Group.
Škoda Auto Germany in Weiterstadt is a 100 percent subsidiary of Škoda Auto a.s. For distribution and service we have more than 1,300 partner outlets. In 2007, 120,000 new Škoda cars have been registered.
Our primary objective is to secure employment by acting economically responsible. In addition, when considering our responsibility for the future, we are committed to using our resources reasonably, to integrate environmentally friendly technologies and to improve automotive standards. Mobility and innovative power are the core subjects of our work.
Furthermore, we feel socially responsible, therefore we search for partnerships with creative people and institutions in art and culture and cooperate with them long term. In this respect, we especially emphasize bringing young people together with established artists.
Škoda Auto Germany contributes actively to sustain and support culture in Germany, wherefore we sponsor events in the context of: Jazz/Classic, Film, Art, Literature and Theater. For example, Škoda Auto Germany is a corporate partner of the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt.
The design competence of Škoda has been proven by receiving the famous “red dot design award” for the Octavia station wagon and the Roomster, as well as executing our own design competition in 2006. The cooperation with the b-05 art and design center is another proof of our expertise, and we support the b-05 with financial resources.
